Der Verband Schweizerischer Schreinermeister und Möbelfabrikanten (VSSM) lanciert einen nationalen Designwettbewerb. Der "WoodAward" ist mit 30 000 Franken dotiert. Teilnehmen können alle Einzelpersonen, Firmen oder Teams, die in der Holzverarbeitung, im Produktdesign oder in der Architektur tätig sind. Es ist ein anonymer Wettwerb. Ein Thema ist nicht vorgegeben: Vom Sideboard über die Salatschüssel bis hin zum Spielzeug ist alles möglich. Das Produkt darf einzig die Grösse von 2,5 x 2,5 x 2,5 Metern nicht überschreiten.
